the veggie garden

Today my kids woke up and told me they wanted to "go check the plants." It's a beautiful weekend and we thought it would be fun to make a veggie garden for the kids. My husband built the box and my kids helped plant the seeds...it was very cute. Ethan said he thought he could see little sprouts from the seeds already. :) (I'll just let him think that.)

Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

let your light shine

I just returned from a trip to St. George, Utah / Bryce Canyon and would love to post a photo of my trip...only I forgot my camera and my Mom doesn't know how to get the photos off her camera. Ha ha! I need to just store my camera in my suitcase because this is the third time I've forgotten to take my camera on a trip in the past two months (Disneyland, scrapbooking retreat, St. George.) Anyways, I was there for a wedding and it was GORGEOUS. A little on the hot side, but I'm always happy to take in a little heat before heading back to Seattle.

This is a card featuring In the Parlor and I wish I had a lamp this cute in my house. I could decorate my whole sitting room with furniture from In the Parlor....I could really use some new furniture! (The IKEA lamp in that set actually is a lamp I own...) I gave my mom a bunch of my handmade cards for Mother's Day including this one. The polka-dot paper is from the Perfect Polkas digital paper pack...gotta love polkas! I've been getting some requests to do some stripes in similar colors so that may be coming soon... ;)

happy mother's day to you

I felt a floral card would be appropriate for a Mother's Day blog post, so I chose our new Garden Inspirations stamp set and our Garden Inspirations digital paper for this card! I love the brown solid floral pattern in this paper pack. We have a lot more digital paper planned...it's so much fun to design. This card features two of my favorite color combinations too...pink and brown.

I awoke to the sounds of my daughter singing me "Happy Birthday" this morning. No, it isn't my birthday. But there isn't a Happy Mother's Day to You song so I guess she felt like it was a good substitute. Ha ha! It was very cute.

another sammy page...

My husband keeps reminding me how many scrapbook pages I have of my firstborn son in comparison to my daughter. He is right. So she has been my subject matter lately! I really liked how this page turned out. One day Sammy will see this page when she's all grown up and she'll know that her Mommy loves her. :)

By the way, we have a scrapbooking group over in Lizzie Anne Land if any of you want to talk Scrapbooking! I just started a thread about journaling because that is my recent goal (I have never been one to do a lot of journaling on my pages.)

sammy turns two

My baby girl turned two years old today! This is a page I did for Sammy at my retreat last weekend...it's a page about all the funny things she says at this age. I did a page like this for my son Ethan and it cracks me up when I read it...I'm so glad I have that page. It's also funny to see how different Sammy is than Ethan...she has so many more words! Unfortunately she also has a lot more attitude...No! is a favorite. (Believe it or not Ethan never said "no." He said, in a nice way, "ummm, can't.)

Happy Birthday Samantha Elizabeth.
