Our Sneak Peek has started and I'm excited to present to you By the Sea! This is a sister set to our popular Shore Thoughts set—it was designed in the same style and they complement each other perfectly. This set has another shell, a sandcastle and sand pail, a boy buried in the sand (note that his feet are a separate image and you can position it below his head/arms) and last but not least, a little mermaid! Designing this mermaid was new territory for me…Meridith is the pro at designing our “little people stamps” (our beloved Cowboy, Pirate, Fairy and Ballerina) and taking this on made me a little nervous because I wanted it to be as rockin' as her illustrations...a huge feat! I worked on the design for the mermaid for a long time, and I’m so happy with how she turned out! I wanted to make sure she still fit the style of the set…thus the long curly hair (the boy has curly hair too!)
So, without further ado…the sample above features our little mermaid. The waves in the blue paper were made with the waves stamp from Shore Thoughts. I used some polka-dot Crate paper to make a scallop-edge border which I thought complimented the little scallop scales in her tail.

This second card feels so peaceful and summery to me. It features the sand castle and the little crab (I LOVE that little crab) and I stamped various shells from Shore Thoughts and By the Sea at the bottom on some textured blue Crate paper.

This last sample is a travel journal. I always take a notebook with me on our vacations so I can write down important things like airline and hotel confirmation numbers, rental car information, flight information, important phone numbers, directions, dinner reservations, etc. I just find it so much more convenient to do this in a travel notebook than packing a dozen printouts. Another thing I do with my notebook now is take notes during my trip as I take photos so when I’m ready to scrapbook those photos, I’ll remember what I was doing at the time and I can journal the event. This is something that I picked up from my good friend Rebecca who is an amazing scrapbooker. It’s a great way to remember all the little details that you may forget otherwise, and those little details can really make your page fun!
Meridith will be showing samples of our Born to be Wild set! And tomorrow we’ll be revealing our next two sets, Le Jardin and A Man’s Sole. I am creating samples for A Man’s Sole and I can’t wait to show you the Father’s Day gift ideas I’ve designed featuring this set! We also have a little announcement to make that will make many of you smile. Until tomorrow…

You did a great job on the Mermaid Tricia!!!
I need this set! Awesome job on that mermaid.
Very cute! I love the mermaid's hair!! Your little notebook is awesome! Is the fish also from this stamp set? I really like the orange+ blue combo and the fact that you didn't color in the stamps but used a background instead, and the little ribbon with the suns (I have it too!) is the perfect touch. :-)
Tricia, I just love all these adorable new images and your projects are awesome!
