Fall Colors

This is a card I made over the weekend that is little bit different style for me. It's using our Au Naturale set. I wanted to do a fall leaves card and the big maple leaf in this set was perfect. The sentiments are from our new Just Words set. I embossed the leaves all over the back of a cream card with clear embossing powder and then rubbed different colors of pastel chalks over the top to create the background. I also colored in the orange leaf on the top of the card with pastels. The ink I used for the top leaf and sentiments is SU Purely Pomegranite.

You may have noticed that this set is a bit different than a lot of our other sets too. A different style. Well, let me tell you why that is! :)

Meridith and I design about 90% of our stamps. But we have a lot of really talented artist friends who like to try and design stamps for us too. It's fun! Plus we like to have a little diversity in our sets. This set was actually designed by a good friend of mine, Katie Singleton. Katie was in the Art Department with Meridith and I at the University of Utah, but she ended up going the Drawing and Painting route while Meridith and I went the Graphic Design route. Katie was one of those people who always knocked the socks off our professors in our Drawing and Painting classes---the professor would spend like half an hour gushing over her drawings while the rest of us sat in the back of the classroom and cringed. She was just too good sometimes. ha ha! Luckily Katie is one of my dearest friends and not only did she do this set for us, she's working on another one for us right now that we will be releasing this winter. It's going to be awesome...just you wait and see!
